We had a nice meal at Osaka. It didn’t blow us away but if we were close by we would certainly eat here again. The staff and service were top notch. Nothing really they could have done better just not a 5/5.
Sea Breeze Roll: 5/5
Kiss Me Roll: 3/5
Spring rolls: 4/5
Edamame: 5/5
I had a wonderful experience here. The food was incredible and the service was great. You can taste the freshness in every bite. I highly recommend you try them. You'll love it here. This is my new sushi spot.
We come here almost weekly. We have 3 kids and going to restaurants is usually a stressful experience. However, the staff at Osaka bring such warm & kindness to every single one of our visits. They talk to my kids as if they value them as customers just as much as my husband and I. They remember the dishes we frequently order & even my husband & kids allergen needs. The food always comes out fast, correct & delicious. Even the staff that aren't waiting on us look out for things we need and are willing to help one another to ensure good service. How Osaka doesn't have a line out the door every day, I'll never understand. Highly recommend you support this small business in Mint Hill.
I frequent this place regularly and its consistently good. Every visit starts with a hot sake. Best value appetizer is the stuffed Jalapenos (not to be confused with stuffed jalapeno roll). Deliciously deep fried and with the generous 6-8 pieces, it could be a meal in itself, or is perfect to share with someone. Service is always fast and attentive. Good people work here. Great place to eat.
This was a fairly cute place and had nice wait staff. The restaurant was extremely hard to get to as it is on a corner of a very busy and congested intersection with basically no parking except in a garage where other people could park. Other parking lots in the area would not allow you to park there and it took me 20 minutes to wait on a parking space in the parking garage. I will never go back because of this. The menu was extremely short and limited. Food was okay not extremely great but not bad.
I love this restaurant for date night. NEVER DISAPPOINTS. I typically dine in for the atmosphere. The staff are great about checking in on you and making sure you need everything. The sushi is the most attractive thing about the restaurant they have something for everyone. I’m not a huge spice person but my partner is and we’re able to find something we both enjoy every time. The lights and decorations make the booths cozy I noticed I see them play sports on the tv’s at times and the music played seems pretty wide ranged. I enjoy this restaurant it’s located conveniently and the parking is very easy you can even choose to take a walk to get some ice cream after. But I recommend the mochi.
Bento box was huge and fulfilling. Contained like 16 pieces of sushi, the main katsu dish, some fried rice and grass (radish??) on the side, and loads of edamame. Edamame goooood, wennnh!!!! More veggies (broccoli and mushrooms) under the katsu btw. Wenhhhhh
If you are looking for anything resembling authentic Japanese food, unfortunately I have to say: keep looking. The service was great here, the restaurant was clean, prices were good, and everything came out super fast, but the food... The vegetable tempura was 5 pieces of greasy breaded veg atop some sautéed veggies, The spicy tuna roll had an odd flavor that I couldn't place. My husband's California roll was better. Gyoza was ok, though the beef filling was unusual. The rest (edamame and seaweed salad) was fine, but those items are usually prepackaged. Not sure what the aioli was for? If you come here, I recommend sticking with the sushi, but even then I hesitate to recommend it. I truly wish I could say otherwise because I really wanted to like this place. :(
